A Christmas update

I am not sure if any of you still follow my blog but just in case...things have been a bit all over the place for me in recent months and I have today decided to close my social network site - Freeing Your Wings. FYW will close in the new year and at that time this blog will change its focus somewhat. It will no longer be just an art blog but will encompass the broader spectrum of Freeing Your Wings so will also become a place for healing and support. I will continue to run the distant healing group that runs on FYW from this blog as well. So...just to let you know and for now I wish you a very happy Christmas.

With love Lynda x

A journal page for a mini challenge...

Recently on my website www.freeingyourwings.ning.com we had a challenge to make up a message we would like to send to the world...this is mine. It is just a journal page but it was the saying I loved and wanted to base my painting around it.

Girl in a meadow

This is a large watercolour I have painted from Tamara Laporte's "Summer Girls" course on www.willowing.ning.com

Sanctum

My first really planned use of pastels for portrait. I feel quite pleased with this. It is a reflection of how I have been feeling for a while and I think I have used closed eyes to show that I have retreated into myself.

Several paintings to upload......

This was my starting place on a recent course with Tamara Laporte on Willowing. The course was called "Radical Wellness" and I used it to try and heal some deeply embedded issues.

The next step was creating a guardian with my inner child.

And I completed with an interpretation of what I had managed to heal.

All pages were mixed media.

Long ago....

"For in every adult there dwells the child who was, and in every child there lies the adult that will be."

Two really different paintings....I guess!

I am drifting at the moment....can't make my mind up what to work on hence the huge difference between these two. First is the largest "face" I have ever done so when I finished I thought it was quite bizarre, as it is life size. It is all acrylics. Still thinking about what I think about it....

Secondly I have gone back to a mixed media journalling page - water colours, acrylics, pastels, stencils and gold leaf. I cannot decide what to focus on at the moment.....:-(
